violence and attention

So,  this blurb says,  stuff on billboards *during* a violent video game is remembered more than those on mellower ones (so, we’re more attentive) — whilst on television, if it’s a more violent show, we remember less of the ads between (makes sense — you are focused on the other).

Hypothesis:  you don’t attend to that bicycle because it’s just not as “violent.”  That other stuff on the road far more closely resembles the video — and the bicycle resembles (to the wiring in your brain) that advertising in between.

One response to “violence and attention

  1. Yep. Cyclists aren’t threats and hence are unnoticed.
